Niel Marshall Changes Gear In ‘Drive’

After Doomsday having an unsuccessful weekend, Neil Marshall is not ready to give up. Marshall is set to direct Universals adaptation of the James Sallis novel. The novel takes place in the underside of Southern California. The film will follow a Hollywood stunt man driver, who is a robbery wheel-man, until one day his job goes wrong and ends up with a price on his head. Hugh Jackman has been planned to be cast and also produce, once his done with Wolverine. The script which is written by Hossein Amini, Marshall said:

“This is something I haven’t done before, and I’ve wanted to bring a British sensibility to an L.A. shoot and a scorched classic film noir concept. Hoss is a fantastic writer, and he’s written three amazing car chases in the film. He’s turned them into dramatic scenes as opposed to the usual crash, bang, wallop. I would like to be shooting it this summer.”

Let us just hope this new film would not be another Doomsday with an unsuccessful opening.
