The Dark Knight Sheds a Little Light

March 23, 2008

The actors and the director of The Dark Knight talked about movie last week at showest which was held in Las Vegas. Christopher Nolan had a few interesting things to say about the film. Nolan talks about a scene in particular that he enjoys. Nolan says, “There is a pretty amazing meeting of the minds between Batman and Joker in the middle of the film that we haven’t wanted to show to people yet. We want to save that for the movie. … It’s very much an acting scene, but I would be lying if I said it was a purely verbal smackdown.”

I wonder if this is the scene where Batman is in the interrogation room with the Joker. This seems the most likely from what the trailer has shown us. Maggie Gillenhaal (taking over for Katie Holmes)had this to say about a scene, “I did a scene where I get to interrogate a bad guy as a lawyer, trying to break a witness, and I had a blast shooting that scene. I’ve always wanted to play a lawyer in a courtroom, and I got to do that a little bit here.”

March 19, 2008

After numerous delays for the Warner Bros. new Justice League of America movie, George Miller once again runs into complication. It turns out that the film was denied a tax rebate by the Australian Government. Miller was very angry and told The Sydney Morning Herald that, “A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the Australian film industry is being frittered away because of very lazy thinking.” “If that’s going to be the final decision, they’re throwing away hundreds of millions of dollars of investment that the rest of the world is competing for and, much more significantly, highly skilled creative jobs. …It feels to me like I’m not fighting for this film. I’m fighting for the Australian film industry.”

Warner Bros. where looking forward for Miller to get the rebates for the mega-budget the film might end up, but unfortunately, it is been said that Warner Bros. may seek a new director and replace most of the cast being rumored by mid April. Canada is now the top choice for production.

March 16, 2008

Many people felt that because Heath Ledger died before The Dark Knight came out that Warner Bros. would change the focus of the film. Christopher Nolan says No Way! The director said he feels that to pay tribute to Ledger, he must respect his work.

Christoper Nolan: “I think he’d be very pleased to see we’re just moving ahead as is. If you try to honor somebody, you honor them by respecting their work and putting it out there for as many people to see. He was immensely proud of the work he did on the film. I feel a great burden to present that in an undistorted form.”

Christian Bale: “I hope that this can be seen as a celebration of his work. He did a phenomenal job. It was a real joy working with the man. It was a joy knowing him, as well. I liked him a great deal, and I liked also how seriously he took his work.”

We’re looking forward to seeing Ledger’s work as the Joker in the upcoming sequel to Batman Begins, The Dark Knight.

Well, it is finally here, the teaser trailer for ‘The Incredible Hulk’ . The trailer is pretty entertaining, the cgi looks pretty good as well. It’s impossible to tell if the film looks better than the first ‘Hulk’, since the trailer for the first one wasn’t too bad itself. There are only a few shots of the Hulk and Abomination as the trailer mostly follows Bruce Banner. Check the trailer out for yourself.
